We have recently introduced the ability to create classes for a single grade level.
Creating classes as a single grade level works well for schools that have straight grades or if they don't have many separations, pairings and preferences that cross between grade levels.
If you choose to create classes for a grade level that includes composite classes then you will notice a warning is displayed:
You can then decide if you would like to create classes as a whole school or proceed with the single grade.
If you decide to create classes for a single grade level you won't be able to see the other grade levels that make up your composite classes. This means that you won't be able to consider the separations, pairings and friendships as easily as if you chose to create your classes as a whole school.
Creating classes as a whole school allows you to see different grade levels and how they impact others.
If you create your composite classes as a single grade level you will be able to 'match' these classes up by using the merge tool.
The classes will be merged according to the way they appear on the screen. i.e. The grade 1's from P/1A will be matched with the P's from P/1A to create a complete class.
If you are unsure of the best way to proceed for your school, please reach out any time - we are happy to help! Email me at help@classcreator.io
